Bring back The OC!

Is it just us or are TV Soundtracks just not what they used to be? Remember when they used to be REALLY REALLY great? Week after week your original chunky iPod would be jam packed of all those brand new Indie artists you'd just heard on your fave show and your friends would wonder how you go so well versed in the world of music?! But which one was the best? Which soundtrack changed (or ruined) your life forever?

Dive straight into PopBuzz's Ultimate TV Soundtrack faves and let us know:

The OC (2003-2007)

This was the actual 'OG' of best TV soundtracks. This masterpiece made those soundtrack albums a thing and introduced us all to some of the best Indie bands and artists of the 00s. Artists like Imogen Heap and Death Cab For A Cutie were guaranteed to be at the top of your Most Played list 5 hours after the episode aired.

Top 3 Tracks:

"Phantom Planet" by California
"Hide And Seek" by Imogen Heap
"Champagne Supernova" by Oasis

One Tree Hill (2003-2012)

We'll forever be grateful for One Tree Hee filling the void after The OC ended. The show was a perfect mix of big names (What's good, Dave Grohl?!) and new artists like Jana Kramer and Kate Voegele. And thanks to the in-show music theme, OTH was able to bring actual musicians into the mix. Remember when Fall Out Boy made a guest appearance at TRIC… Actual Gavin DeGraw? CHEAP TRICK!?

Top 3 Tracks:

"I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw
"Dance Dance" by Fall Out Boy
"Heartbeats" by Jose Gonzalez

Grey’s Anatomy (2005 - Present)

Whether you watch the show or not, you have to admit it gave you some MASSIVE BANGERS. It also introduced mainstream audiences to artists like Tegan and Sara, The Fray and Ingrid Michaelson. (We're not saying a word about those disappointing cover versions that are currently playing on Season 12 tho... not a word.)

Top 3 Tracks:

"Breathe 2AM" by Anna Nalick
"Where Does The Good Go" by Tegan And Sara
"Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol (HOW DARE YOU!)

Gossip Girl (2007 - 2012)

The soundtrack for Gossip Girl was like mixing the indie vibes of The OC with real life Blair Waldorf's iTunes playlist. Bands like Paramore and Cobra Starship held it down for the cool kids while Adele kept it real for literally everyone else. Slay onwards, Josh Schwartz!

Top 3 Tracks:

"Dancing On My Own" by Robyn
"The Only Exception" by Paramore
"Rolling In The Deep" by Adele

Scrubs (2001-2010)

It would be much easier if we just mentioned that masterpiece that is the musical episode but Scrubs managed to ground it's more serious moments in some absolute TUNES. It blessed us with Joshua Radin, Dashboard Confessional and The Fray (what is it with The Fray and medical shows?!)

Top 3 Tracks:

"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab For A Cutie
"Bad Dream" by Keane
"Winter" by Joshua Radin

So, what is the Ultimate TV Soundtrack?!
