Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate events is returning to the streaming platform this spring and the TV adaptation will almost certainly be darker than its first season. Count Olaf and the Baudelaire children are back for even more unfortunate events featuring new characters, new mishaps, and new disguises.

When is A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2 going to premiere on Netflix?
Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events will arrive on Netflix on Friday, March 30. All 10 episodes will be available at once, as is usually the case with Netflix original hows.

A teaser trailer for season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events was released on January 1, 2018.
A subsequent trailer became available for fans in early February, 2018. New addition, Nathon Fillion appeared (albeit briefly) in the new trailer as well.
Another trailer was shared with fans on March 7. This trailer is the longest so far and gives a more focused look at the upcoming season.

Who will be in A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2: New cast members
Series regulars Neil Patrick Harris (Olaf), Louis Hynes (Klaus), Presley Smith (Sunny) and Melina Weissman (Violet) will be returning for the second season of ASOUE. Patrick Warburton will also return as series narrator.
In June 2017, it was confirmed that Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue, Lucy Punch and Roger Bart would be joining the cast. Nathan Fillion is set to play Jacques Snicket. Tony Hale will play Jerome Squalor. Lucy Punch will play the role of Esmé. Roger Bart will fill the role of Vice Principal Nero.

How many episodes in A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2?
While the first season of ASOUE had eight episodes, Netflix have bumped the episode count to 10 for season two. Barry Sonnenfeld, the show's EP, has directed many of the episodes in season 2, along with Bo Welch.
What is the plot of A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2? Which books does it follow?
Season 2 will chronicle novels five to nine of the Series of Unfortunate Events books (The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival).
Neil Patrick Harris hinted at the kids having a bit more agency in this upcoming season. Speaking to Elite Daily, NPH said the kids would "take more action". "We’re getting to have some more fun," he said.
Season 1 stuck closely to the source material and it seems season 2 will draw from the same well. In early 2017,Barry Sonnenfeld told Variety, "at the end of the second season there’s a natural break after 'Carnivorous Carnival' for a really scary ending to the season."
