Arya Stark killed the Night King on 'Game of Thrones' and the memes are already god tier

In Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3, 'Battle of Winterfell' Arya Stark kills the Night King. The internet quickly erupted in memes and hilarious reactions to the iconic twist.

The battle of Winterfell on Game of Thrones has come and gone and the Seven Kingdoms have Arya Stark to thank for saving the day. Arya killed the Night King, destroying his legion of White walkers in the process.

Just when all hope seemed lost, the Red Woman's "what do we say to the God of death" (not today) call back propelled Arya to her destiny. It was an incredible moment for Game of Thrones fans and the reactions and memes prove how utterly stunned audiences were after the incredible twist.

How did Arya kill the Night King?

When the White Walkers and the Night King break past the castle's barriers, it becomes unclear whether our protagonists will actually survive long enough to see daybreak.

After outrunning a hoard of White Walkers, Arya encounters Melisandre who asks: "what do we say to the God of death", a question which her old sword instructor used to ask her.

Arya has clearly been preparing for this moment since she was old enough to wield a weapon.

Using the dagger given to her by Bran in season 7 (courtesy of Littlefinger), Arya attacks the Night King. When he grabs her by the neck, she drops her dagger to her other hand and stabs him through the abdomen. The Night King shatters like glass and his entire White Walker army fall where they stand.

Naturally, the internet was 100% shook.
