13 Reasons Why season 3 will be released on Netflix on Friday August 23rd. Here's what time it is dropping in your country.

After over a year of silence, 13 Reasons Why is about to return to Netflix with a whole new season and a whole new mystery.

Season 3 of the controversial Netflix series will apparently feel like a completely different show. Instead of focusing on Hannah Baker's story (Katherine Langford left the show at the end of season 2), this new season 3 will focus on Bryce Walker's death.

Yep, Bryce the rapist is now dead and a murder mystery is starting to unravel around the lives of everyone else at Liberty High. Every character has a motive, and every character is at risk of being arrested or finding themselves in danger. Bryce's death happens fairly early on in the season, you already know the show will be dragging out the mystery until the bitter end.

What will happen in 13 Reasons Why season 3?

As we've seen in the trailers, season 3 will focus on the death (or should we say, murder?) of Bryce Walker.

The season picks up 8 months after the events of the season 2 finale where Tyler was about to carry out a shooting at Liberty High's Spring Fling dance. Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin, and Zach all find ways to help shoulder the burden of trying to cover-up Tyler's plans together while helping him move toward recovery.

As the investigation heats up, Clay and the rest of the group will find themselves struggling to keep their secrets hidden despite help from newcomer Ani (played by Grace Saif). At some point in the season, Clay is arrested for his suspected involvement in Bryce's death.

According to Timothy Granaderos, who plays Monty, season 3 "feels like a different show" and will feature no controversial scenes that spark public outcry, like Hannah's death scene in season 1 or Tyler's rape in season 2.

Speaking to Radio Times, Timothy said that season 3 is "not the same as the past two seasons. I don't think you’ll be asking me the same questions about the two prior scenes. There are definitely scenes that are wild but I don't think you'll be asking if any scenes will need to be removed from season three."
