Hardin, Trevor and Zed all fight for Tessa's attention in the After We Collided book.
After We Collided sets up a love triangle between Tessa, Hardin and Trevor but the movie almost had one more love interest.
After months of major delays, After We Collided was finally released in US cinemas and via video on demand last Friday (Oct 23). The movie is an adaptation of Anna Todd's popular After sequel and it sees Tessa (Josephine Langford) find her love for Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) tested as a new man enters the mix. Trevor (Dylan Sprouse) is the opposite of bad boy Hardin.
Naturally, fans are already living for the film but it initially featured one more man vying for Tessa's romantic attention: Zed.
Discussing After We Collided with ET, director Roger Kimble explained that they initially wanted to stay true to the book. In other words, Hardin's friend Zed would have also made moves on Trevor. He teased: "The initial conversations with Trevor were more like going back to the book and knowing that she had two different love triangles going on in the second book."
However, the Zed/Tessa storyline was ultimately cut from the sequel due to time. Roger revealed: "I said to Anna, 'I can't do both in a 95-minute film. It'll short-trip everybody. I think we should pick Trevor because he was opposite of Hardin.' And she agreed with that."
Roger continued: "I want people to be torn. I want people to be on Team Trevor, I want people to be on Team Hardin and I want there to be fights... I don't want to make it too easy for the audience to pick."
A moment of silence of the lost Zed/Tessa storyline.
