What is the theme for American Horror Story season 9?

Before the theme was announced for season 8, it was speculated that season nine would be the Murder House/Coven crossover to accomodate the schedules of the cast members he wanted to reprise their roles in that particular season. Now that that theme is now confirmed for season 8, the theme for next year's season is now anyone's guess.

Before it was announced, it sounded like Murphy has working on a completely different season, so whether or not that we will ever get to see that as the theme for season 9... who knows?

When is American Horror Story season 9 released?

AHS 9 will be released in 2019. It's likely that the season will premiere around the same time as the other seasons which is in either September or October.

Which cast members will return for American Horror Story Season 9?

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's likely that we'll see Sarah Paulson return for her ninth season of AHS.

"I have found a home in the sense that I work for a person who sees me completely, knows my strengths and weaknesses, knows how to push me and keeps throwing me the ball,” Paulson said of continuing to work with Murphy. “Why would you leave something that works? This idea of jumping off one thing just to be available in case something great comes by, that’s like leaving your wonderful mate because you think maybe someone more interesting is out there.”

As for Evan Peters? He might actually sit this next season out. Speaking to GQ, he revealed the emotional stress and impact that the show - and the characters he's had to play - has on him.

"I'm goofy, I'm silly, I like to have fun. I don't like to yell and scream. I actually hate it," he explained. "I think it's disgusting and really awful, and it's been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me."

"It's been all a massive stretch for me and really difficult to do," he says of playing those characters. "It's hurting my soul and Evan as a person. There's this massive amount of rage that's been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that's been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I'm sick. I don't feel good."

What’s going to happen in American Horror Story Season 9?

Who knows! Before it was announced that season eight would now be the crossover season, fans speculated that the next season could focus on some kind of nuclear threat - but that also sounds like it might be part of the plot for season 8.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what Ryan Murphy conjures up as his next theme, huh? When are we gonna get those damn aliens that were mentioned in Asylum that one time?
