It looks like Ansel Elgort is getting creative with The Goldfinch promo...

Ansel Elgort just posted 17 shirtless selfies and the internet thinks it might have something to do with The Goldfinch trailer.

It's no secret that Ansel Elgort is one of Hollywood's most loved young stars. Ever since he starred as Caleb in the Divergent franchise, people have been obsessed with him and he's since gone on to amass even more fans with lead roles in hit films such as The Fault In Our Stars and Baby Driver. The 25-year-old has been pretty quiet as of late but, last night, he caused a stir by uploading 17 shirtless selfies on Instagram all in the space of 10 minutes.

Why did Ansel Elgort post 17 shirtless selfies on Instagram?

As far as explanations goes, Ansel didn't give us any. It could be that he was just feeling his oats and wanted to share selfies with the world to prove it. Some people think that the actor was hacked but the photos have been up for 7 hours now so we think that's unlikely. Obviously he could just be trolling us but, given that Ansel has a new trailer coming out today, people reckon that Ansel may just be mastering the art of promo.

All eyes are on him now and The Goldfinch trailer drops today at 16:00 (GMT). The Goldfinch is a film adaptation of the best-selling Donna Tart novel of the same name. It tells the tale of Theo (Ansel), a young man who finds himself caught up in the world of art forgery. The movie also stars Finn Wolfhard, Sarah Paulson and Nicole Kidman among others. Whether or not the selfies are for the film, we are very grateful for them.

Here are just a few of the reactions.

Iconic right?
