When is Avengers 4 being released?

Avengers 4 will be released on April 26, 2019 in the UK and on May 3, 2019 in the US - almost one year to the date of the release of Infinity War.

Before we get Avengers 4, we will get both Ant-Man and The Wasp (July 3rd in the US and August 3rd in the UK) and the stand-alone Captain Marvel movie (due for release in 2019, a month before Avengers 4.)

What is the title of Avengers 4?

While the film is referred to on the internet as "Avengers 4", it doesn't actually have an official title yet. It was originally given the title Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 but that has since been scrapped.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the film doesn't have a title yet because it could be considered a spoiler. The cast also do not yet know the official title of the movie.

Who will be in the cast of Avengers 4?

All of the Avengers that were alive at the end of Infinity War will be back. That list includes:

Robert Downey Jr,

Chris Hemsworth,

Scarlett Johansson,

Mark Ruffalo,

Chris Evans,

Don Cheadle,

Karen Gillan,

Letitia Wright,

and of course, Josh Brolin as Thanos.

Despite dying at the end of Infinity War, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista and Zoe Saldana are all slated to appear.

Gwyneth Paltrow will appear as Pepper Potts alongside Jon Favreau as Happy. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be joining the cast as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Lilly revealed that The Wasp wasn't in Infinity War because her MCU introduction will be seen in the upcoming Ant-Man sequel. Brie Larson will also appear as Captain Marvel. Jeremy Renner, who was absent from Infinity War, is also listed as returning.

Hiroyuki Sanada has been cast in an undisclosed role and it's been reported that Stan Lee will also have a cameo.

It's also been rumoured that Aaron Taylor Johnson will be returning as Quicksilver, after fans reportedly spotted him on set.

What will happen in the plot of Avengers 4?

The synopsis of the film has officially been released and it doesn't look good. The synopsis reads as follows:

"A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it."

Turning point? Fragile reality? SACRIFICES?! *takes a deep breath*

Many fans have also suggested that Time Travel will be involved and will be used by the remaining Avengers to travel back in time and stop Thanos from ever retrieving all six Infinity Stones. Anthony Russo hinted that Avengers 4 might not continue the story in a linear fashion from what we have seen in the MCU up until this point, which is basically a confirmation of time travel, right?

Will Avengers 4 be a continuation of Infinity War?

When Cinema Blend asked Feige whether or not Thanos will also appear in Avengers 4, he replied "They're two different movies. That's all I'll say."

Will Captain Marvel be in Avengers 4?

Yes! Captain Marvel will be appearing in Avengers 4 and thanks to the post-credits sequence from Infinity War, it is implied that she might be the one who saves the day.

The stand-alone Captain Marvel film will be set in the 1990s so it won’t directly reference THAT Infinity War cliffhanger, but it’ll give us enough of a glimpse into Carol Danvers' character and set her up for a present day appearance.

Are there any photos from the Avengers 4 set yet?

Yes! Pictures and footage has leaked from the set showing Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo (in a full CGI suit), Paul Rudd and Chris Hemsworth with long hair again. Tom Hiddleston was also spotted back in costume as Loki which would suggest that the film will be dabbling in time travel seeing as Loki is officially dead, as opposed to Thanos dust dead.

A number of pictures of concept art for the film has also found its way online. In the pictures, Thanos is holding a new weapon and a repaired gauntlet, Captain Marvel is part of the squad and... brace yourselves... Captain America doesn't have a beard.

What have the cast said about the film so far?

Speaking to Esquire, Chris Hemsworth has revealed that Avengers 4 is MUCH more heartbreaking than Infinity War.

"If you were shocked by [Infinity War], I think the second one is even more shocking, for other reasons entirely. That’s what kind of blew me away the first time I read both scripts, is how they managed to orchestrate so many different characters but give them each their own separate shot and moments, and have it be elevated and feel fresh and unique—not just like a messy, thrown-together assembly of these guys."

That doesn't sound great, does it?

Is there a trailer for Avengers 4 yet?

Nope. There's no trailer just yet. The first Infinity War trailer dropped in December 2017 so if this film follows the same cycle, we could be waiting until the winter until we see some kind of teaser for the film ahead of its April release.
