Cameron Boyce and Karan Brar became close friends on the set of Jessie.

Disney star Karan Brar has honoured late Descendants actor Cameron Boyce with a tattoo to commemorate their friendship.

Last year (Jul 6), Cameron Boyce's family announced that the beloved Disney actor had died at the age of 20. In a statement to ABC News, they wrote: "It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated."

Following Cameron's passing many celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to him. Dove Cameron, Skai Jackson and many more shared words about him. On Instagram, Karan Brar wrote: "you were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. i love you so much cam. wish i had more to say right now but i don’t think words will come for a while."

Now Karan has paid tribute to Cameron in another way. He's gotten a new tattoo inspired by a photo of them together.

Taking to Instagram this weekend (Jan 12), Karan posted a photo of the new tattoo on his arm, alongside photos of exactly what inspired it. He wrote: "a photo of Cam & I the day before his 19th birthday and part of a letter he wrote to me on my 15th birthday. HUGE thank you to @unotattoonyc for doing such an amazing job - you are a legend my friend".

The tattoo itself is a polaroid recreation of the photo of them together in silhouette form, except you can also see Cameron's freckles on his face. It then features the words: "Your Partner in Crime, Cam" and a smiley face in Cameron's own handwriting, which you can see at the end of the letter he sent Karan when Karan turned 15.

Friends of Cameron and Karan commented on his post praising the tattoo. Dove Cameron wrote: "i felt this in my whole body" and Sabrina Carpenter and Debby Ryan both posted heart emojis in response.

Cameron and Karan first met as stars on the hit show Jessie and quickly became best friends. On Cameron's birthday last year, Karan posted a photo of Cameron alongside the caption: "love you. You’re the greatest brother I could’ve ever asked for, and I will forever feel lucky to have you in my life. Happy birthday. That’s all."

Since Cameron passed away, Karan has regularly used his platform to raise awareness about the Cameron Boyce Foundation, which works to end gun violence, provide people with clean water and increase epilepsy awareness.
