Naturally, fans are praising him for using his platform and this moment to encourage his millions of followers to vote, particularly given how important the upcoming US election is.

Chris tweet's come after Mark Ruffalo and his own brother poked fun at him online. Meanwhile, Scott Evans simply wrote: "Was off social media for the day yesterday. So. What’d I miss?"

Jamie Lee Curtis also joined in by responding to Chris' tweet saying: "My boy! Proud of him. Got MY attention!"

Chris has since addressed the incident in an interview with Tamron Hall. He said: "It was an interesting weekend full of lessons learned. A lot of teachable moments. Things happen.
