Cole is heard calling the musician a "scam artist" and all hell breaks loose.
Video footage has emerged of Cole Sprouse confronting a street performer while shooting the last season of Riverdale last night in Vancouver, Canada.
The Riverdale crew, including Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, were filming inside an art gallery - with a filming permit for the whole area - while street perfomer Babe Coal was also performing outside. At some point, it became impossible to continue filming because Babe Coal was allegedly too loud (she had a mic and a guitar amp from the looks of things). When the production team asked her to stop, she asked for compensation. That's when Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart intervened to plead with the singer to stop while they film.
Cole can be heard asking the performer: "We're begging you. Our production in there...we can't film anything." To which Babe Coal can be heard replying, "...and I've asked for compensation." That's when Cole loses his patience.

Cole Sprouse turns to the crowd that has now gathered and says, "So if you guys don't know how this works, this is one of the secrets of film production. We give a location to the city and then some scam artists come out and start playing." An argument between the two unfolds, much of which inaudible from the video. In the end, Cole walks about and after the video stops the police step in to stop Babe Coal from performing.
In a comment below the original YouTube video, one person leaves a comment which gives a little more context to the situation. It reads, "Riverdale producers payed for a permit to film in that public location. The crew was having issues with her there and performing because it was disrupting filming. She was asked to leave/stop repeatedly by producers/crew but she flat out refused. Cole came up and asked her to be kind and help them by stopping or move for 1 hour. But she didn't stop and was demanding they pay her. She was detained by the VPD because she wasn't suppose to be performing on the streets after 10pm anyways. And she's calling the cast/crew cheap and rude wtf."
Babe Coal has since given her version of events in a lengthy twitter rant.
Tonight I was detained unlawfully w/ no charge & not read my rights for the purpose of intimidation in a non Police Civil matter

Riverdale Cast and crew who surrounded me should be ashamed at how they treated me last night, you can't treat people like that.
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
Riverdale cast and crew were misinformed as to the facts of what happened and how I was rudely mistreated durring my performance
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
Riverdale cast were acting like trolls towards me.

Cole Sprouse slandered me and acted terribly he should be ashamed. What he and cast did was abusive towards a member of the public.

Babe Coal said she originally complied with the crew when she was asked to turn the volume down but then they asked her a second time, interrupting her half way through a song. That's when she demanded compensation.
I would have modified it further if asked, instead I was yelled at, my performance was interrupted for the whole and I had to make up for it
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
At any time if asked the sound could have been further modified or if they really wanted me to stop they could have compensated me
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
my performance was interrupted for more than an hour and I needed to make up for some of the lost time. I broke no law, I was not arrested

Cole Sprouse acted like a spoiled brat and tried to bully me with his popularity. He has no idea that his actions make him look bad not me.
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
I suspect his supporters will be his supporters and not necessarily care about what really happened and why it really happened
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
I called them cheap as a reaction to being bullied, I gave them lots of options, they just chose to take the low road
— Babe Coal (@BabeCoal) July 13, 2017
Cole Sprouse and his fans acted with hate towards me and my fans without knowing or caring about the facts. Some RD crew had my back.

After the incident, one fan gave Cole one of Babe's CDs, which she bought to "shut her up". Looks like Cole didn't like the music very much.
