The CBS crime drama has been renewed for one more season and will end after 324 episodes.

Bad news for everyone who loves a good crime drama... Criminal Minds is finally coming to an end at CBS after 15 seasons.

Yep, one of your favourite show has been cancelled but don't worry, it won't be ending with season 14... it's been confirmed that we will still get one more season before it ends forever. The series has been renewed for a fifteenth and final season that will consist of 10 episodes. Those final episodes will be filmed right after they finish filming season 14 and will air at some point in 2019.

With those final 10 episodes, the show will finish with a mind-blowing 324 episodes in total, making it one of the longest-running scripted shows in television history.

Speaking to TV Line, show runner Erica Messer said about the series' cancellation: “It’s really bittersweet, but I’m so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up, I think one of my biggest fears was always, ‘Oh man, what if we don’t know’ and then they just don’t bring back the show? But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly.”

Back in 2018, Messer told E! News that she could "see this show going another 300 episodes... As long as we have heroes who want to keep chasing the bad guys I feel like we could keep going, and going, and going."

But unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Of course, everyone is in their feelings about the cancellation of their favourite show and people are preparing to say goodbye to a series that's been in their lives for almost 15 years.

The season 14 finale of Criminal Minds will air Wednesday, Feb. 6. Season 15 will air at some point in 2019.
