The new season casting call introduces us to Darian, Ray, Ami and Serena.

Euphoria season two was confirmed by HBO late last year after gaining critical acclaim for its gripping storyline and range of diverse and complex characters. Now, we may have a few clues as to what we can expect from the new series thanks to its open casting call.

Fans who fancy trying out their acting skills and have dreams of starring alongside Zendaya have until January 27 to apply to for a chance to appear in the series, according to Project Casting.

And while that’s pretty exciting, the casting call does come with another exciting revelation, revealing the details of four new characters set to appear on the series - Darian, Ray, Ami and Serena.

The casting call introduces us to 17-year-old outsider Darian who is “sensitive”, “vulnerable” and “mischievous”. It also describes him as someone who “could struggle with addiction”. He’s “definitely not the cool kid at school but [is] one of the more interesting kids”.

Ray - also 17 - is “attractive in a real and accessible way”. He’s “scrappy but a fighter” and is “working class” with a “pure heart”. Ami, meanwhile, is described as between “18-20”. She’s a “drug addict” and a “stripper” who “hates her boyfriend”. Apparently, she “can’t read a room” and “can make a bad situation worse”. Well she sounds like a hoot to be around.

Serena is a 50-something woman who’s “sassy and tough”. The casting call describes her as “the kind of woman who partied her whole life and attended every White Snake concert and now she has several different hustles just to make a living”.

The online form for the casting call states that no prior acting experience is necessary and the audition process begins with sending in some written information and a video.

But for fans hoping to get the new series later this year, we might have some bad news. The form also says that shooting for the series is set to begin in March in Los Angeles and runs until the end of the year, meaning it could be 2021 before we finally get to see season two.
