The Haunting of Bly Manor comes to Netflix in 2020. Here's everything we know so far... including the all important release date.

The Haunting of Bly Manor has officially wrapped production and is months away from dropping back into our lives. Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel will all return for the second chapter in the Netflix anthology series, due out in 2020.

Following the popularity of the twisted tale behind the Crain family in The Haunting of Hill House, there was a lot of speculation about whether the series would return for another outing, however, in February 2019, Netflix did the right thing and renewed Hill House for another season.

But, there's a catch. Hill House will return for a new chapter in an anthology – with a different name and theme. Season 2 will now be known as The Haunting of Bly Manor, and will feature a brand new story based on The Turn of the Screw. The cast, however, will remain somewhat the same with a handful of Hill House stars returning.

So, what can viewers expect from Bly Manor? When does Bly Manor start and who will return for the anthology's second season?

Here's everything you need to know about The Haunting of Bly Manor.

The Haunting of Bly Manor release date: When does it come out on Netflix?

The Haunting of Bly Manor comes to Netflix on October 9th 2020.

Following the Netflix production shutdowns amid the coronavirus crisis, director Mike Flanagan revealed that Bly Manor had wrapped filming before the lockdown which means the new season will not be delayed.

Flanagan wrote: "Still on schedule, we wrapped before the shutdown and post production has carrying on from home. The show is shaping up wonderfully, I'm thrilled with it. At the moment no reason to think it'll be pushed. @netflix will announce the release date when they're ready."

Haunting Of Hill House season 2 plot: What is Bly Manor about?

Bly Manor will be based on the Henry James novella, The Turn of The Screw, about a governess helping to raise two children. The Turn of The Screw is a ghost tale written in the late 1800s, but it is unclear if Bly Manor will be a modern interpretation or whether it will also be set in the 1800s.

The Turn of The Screw has been adapted a number of times over the years, including as the film The Innocents (1961).

The Haunting of Bly Manor is the second story in the "Haunting universe", the first being The Haunting of Hill House.

The Haunting of Bly Manor cast: Who will return?

Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel are confirmed to return in new roles.

Victoria will play Dani and Olivier will play Peter. While the two didn't divulge a great deal about their roles, Oliver did call Peter "a charming young man".

As for Victoria Pedretti, she will play Dani "a governess who takes care of two very unusual children". Considering the terror of The Haunting of Hill House, we're guessing these kids won't be completely normal.

Henry Thomas (who played young Hugh Crain in THoHH) returns to the anthology, as does Kate Siegel (Theo Crain). Catherine Parker (The Haunting of Hill House), T'Nia Miller (Years and Years), Rahul Kohli (iZombie), Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Hill House) have also joined the cast in unspecified roles.

Benjamin Ainsworth and Amelie Smith (Eastenders) will play the children, Miles and Flora, respectively.

The Haunting of Bly Manor trailer: Has it been released yet?

Yes – and it's just as terrifying as you could have imagined. The trailer shows Pedretti as Dani discovering a bunch of creepy dolls in the basement of Bly Manor. Of course, once she leaves the room, they all come to life...

There's two creepy children, and one absolutely horrifying visual of a person creeping up out of the water. Nightmares are on the way!

What can fans expect in Bly Manor?

We don't have TOO much info about the upcoming season but director Mike Flanagan has joked that more hidden ghosts have been discussed. We're ready.
