Haunting of Hill House director Mike Flanagan confirmed that The Haunting of Bly Manor is officially in production. The show is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2020.
Haunting of Hill House fans – the wait for Bly Manor just got a little shorter. Series director Mike Flanagan has confirmed that The Haunting of Bly Manor is officially in production. Flanagan tweeted the news to fans who have been eagerly following his Bly Manor updates and casting announcements.

Flanagan shared the news while seemingly reflecting on the trajectory of his career. "Seven years ago today - it was the first day of production on OCULUS," he mused on Twitter. "Today is the second day of production on THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR. Feeling very grateful to be here."

We love a full-circle moment.
Mike Flanagan has been sharing important casting updates all summer, confirming that Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Catherine Parker, T'Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli and Amelia Eve would be joining Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen for Bly Manor.
Bly Manor is based on Henry James' The Turn of The Screw, about a governess who is enlisted to help raise two children at Bly Manor.
Benjamin Ainsworth and Amelie Smith will play the children Miles and Flora, while Victoria Pedretti will play Dani, their governess. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who plays Victoria's onscreen twin in The Haunting of Hill House, will play Peter in Bly Manor.
Late last year, some members of The Haunting of Hill House cast expressed interest in the show becoming an anthology that told a different horrifying tale every season. In February 2019, Netflix confirmed that another season of the hit show would, indeed, be made. At the same time, the platform inked an overall deal with Flanagan.
As for a Bly Manor release date, your guess is as good as ours. However, Autumn 2020 seems like a strong bet.
