The 'Hustlers' cast also includes Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles and Mercedes Ruehl as 'avenging strippers' who get their own back on their Wall Street clients.
Some news: Riverdale's Lili Reinhart is about to star in a new movie with Cardi B where she will be playing a former stripper. Yeah, that's a sentence I bet you never thought you'd read in your entire life.
In case you haven't heard, Lili has joined the cast of Jennifer Lopez' new movie Hustlers, alongside Grammy award-winning rapper Cardi, Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer and Mercedes Ruehl.
According to Deadline, the film is set in New York City and follows a group of savvy former strip club employees who join forces to turn the tables on their greedy Wall Street clients in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. J Lo will play the ringleader of the group of dancers. The plot is inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler.
Jennifer Lopez will be playing Ramona who is the ring leader of the exotic dancers. Constance Wu will playing Destiny, Keke Palmer will portray Mercedes and Lili Reinhart will appear as Annabelle.
Cardi B also just dropped the first glimpse of her character, Diamond, in a new picture on Instagram.
Icon and legend Lizzo is also set to appear in the film, recently sharing a snap from behind the scenes after wrapping her cameo role.
No word on any of the other roles that will be portrayed in the film yet but it's safe to say that this movie - and this absolutely FIRE all-female cast - is set to break the internet.
Lorene Scafaria, writer and director of the movie revealed, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women. We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”
It'll be the first feature role for Cardi B who coincidentally was a dancer at a strip club before she became one of the biggest names in the music industry. And for Lili, well... let's just say that Betty Cooper and her 'Mad World' performance on stage at the Whyte Wyrm in Riverdale season 2 are gonna be so proud.
Lopez will also executive produce the film. Shooting began on March 22 in New York and it already looks absolutely amazing.
