Your favourite hot vampire is coming to Netflix in a new supernatural show.

If you loved the CW's Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder's next project will seriously excite you. The 39-year-old actor played Damon Salvatore on the supernatural drama for eight seasons. Now, he will return to television to face off against vampires once more, this time on Netflix.

Somerhalder will play Dr. Luther Swann in the upcoming Netflix series, V-Wars. The series is based on an IDW graphic novel of the same name.

Not only will Somerhalder star in V-Wars, he will also take on director duties for the upcoming drama.

V-Wars follows the good doctor Luther Swann who becomes acquainted with the supernatural world when his best friend, Michael Fayne, is transformed into a blood thirsty, human hunting predator--a vampire

As Michael Fayne becomes more powerful in the fast-growing world of vampires, Somerhalder's character must make sense of what is happening. Hmm, we wonder what Damon would think of all this?

Netflix has ordered 10 episodes for the first series with no air date announced just yet. This comes a year after Ian Somerhalder wrapped on the CW's Vampire Diaries.

Netflix ordering a graphic novel adaptation is not surprising considering the streaming company's current business goals. Also in the pipeline for Netflix is the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the Roberto Aguirre Sacasa vehicle, also based on a graphic novel.

We cannot wait to dive into a supernatural series starring Ian again. We have no doubts this one will be amazing as well.
