Could Jessica Lange be returning Constance Langdon and/or Fiona Goode for the Murder House/Coven crossover season?

Ever since fans got confirmation that the theme for American Horror Story season 8 will be the Murder House/Coven crossover, they've gone into overdrive wondering which cast members and characters will be returning to make an appearance.

So far, there's been no explicit details about which characters from the two previous seasons will be returning but if Ryan Murphy's recent teasing is anything to go by, it sounds like the entire season is going to explode with cameos and guest appearances from all our faves. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk teased what's to come in the new season: "You will see so many fan favourites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept."

Back in January, Murphy also teased a few details about the hotly anticipated eight season at the Television Critics Association and he happened to mention which cast members that he's been in touch with and wants back for the crossover and um, there's one person on that list that literally EVERYONE is gonna lose their sh*t over.

“I want all of them. I want Dylan, and Connie and Jessica [Lange]. They’ve all said — Kathy Bates, too — everybody who is involved in the show has always said, ‘Yeah, that sounds like fun, let’s get the band back together again.’ So that is one of the reasons why the writing process of that season is taking longer because it’s literally 25 people’s schedules. But I’m hopeful they will all be back,” Murphy said.

"They’ve all said: ‘YEAH, that sounds like fun, let’s get the band back TOGETHER again.’"

Now, unless Ryan Murphy is speaking in general terms (which he probably is, let's face it), that means Jessica Lange has said yes. She has said yes to the Murder House/Coven crossover. Y-E-S. She has given her royal seal of approval to this production. JESSICA LANGE. ACTUAL JESSICA LANGE. He totally wouldn't have said her name if she hadn't said yes, would he?

Murphy isn't gassing us up with all these casting teases for no reason either. According to multiple fan accounts on Twitter, Dylan McDermott has teased/definitelysortamaybe confirmed that he'll be returning to AHS "in the near future..." Seeing as Dylan hasn't been in AHS since Asylum, he's almost definitely talking about the crossover season.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed yet but what's a little speculation between friends, right?

Murphy has spoken about Jessica Lange's long-awaited return to the series before and it sounds like something he definitely wants to make happen. Back in April 2017, he briefly mentioned that if he "bribed her enough", she would come back for another season.

"I think she would if I bribed her enough, you know? I haven't really talked to her about it at all because we are still figuring out that story, but I think we do want to do that," he told TV Guide.

With the Murder House/Coven crossover now pencilled in for season 8 and the fact that the season has now officially been pitched to Lange, we could be seeing the Supreme back on our screens as either Constance Langdon or Fiona Goode (OR BOTH!!!!) at some point this season.

Get your black dress steamed and ready to go, witches because it is about to go OFF.
