It: Chapter Two director Andy Muschietti has revealed a run time of two hours and 45 minutes. There will also be a director's cut, according to Barbara Muschietti.

It: Chapter Two is out 6th September and if you thought it would be a short jaunt to the cinema, you'd better brace yourself. The follow up to 2017's It will apparently be close to three hours long, as revealed by director Andy Muschietti.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other reporters, Andy Muschietti hinted at an even longer version that was eventually trimmed down to two hours and 45 minutes.

He said: "You cannot deliver a 4-hour movie because people will start to feel uncomfortable – no matter what they see – but we ended up having a movie that is 2 hours and 45 minutes, and the pacing is very good."

The film's producer Barbara Muschietti also revealed that there are "some amazing scenes that didn't make it into the movie", adding that fans can eventually expect a director's cut of the film.

It's likely that It: Chapter Two will put up big numbers at the box office this September after the success of its predecessor. It: Chapter Two's run time probably won't be an issue for die hard fans, either.

This year's Avengers: Endgame had an bladder-busting run time of three hours and two minutes, which did not appear to be a problem for its more than enthusiastic audiences.

With the promise of a director's cut, we're very eager to see what has been left out of the two hour 45 minute film.
