Jeffrey Dahmer's dad Lionel Dahmer is considering taking legal action against Netflix over their recent shows about his son.

Over the past few weeks, Netflix have released two highly controversial Jeffrey Dahmer series. The first, Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, is a Ryan Murphy drama that seeks to shine a light on Dahmer's crimes and the stories of his victims. The second, Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes, is a new docuseries about the serial killer.

Both shows have been heavily criticised and now, Dahmer's real father, Lionel Dahmer, is reportedly looking to sue Netflix.

Lionel Dahmer is now 86 and lives with a caretaker in Ohio. In an interview with The Sun, his caretaker revealed that Lionel is "upset" that Netflix never contacted him when making Dahmer. The caretaker also claims that Lionel is "irked" that Netflix "did not seek permission to use tapes made by Dahmer’s legal team" for Conversations with a Killer.

The caretaker stated: "We’ve talked to his publisher about it too due to all the chaos that is going on and the stories we’ve seen. Lionel and his power of attorney are gathering information and looking at a possible lawsuit against the production team or possibly Netflix. There was zero care whatsoever about Lionel’s wellbeing."

In the days since the series came out, fans of Jeffrey Dahmer have shown up at Lionel's house and reportedly left Lionel a "nervous wreck".

The caretaker also said: "Lionel was a very caring father. He was just trying to do his best in a time of uncertainty. He thinks that none of this should have been made, all the information that needs to be public is right there in his book. Everything else is just glamorized and provides attention to details that aren’t proven fact."

He ended by saying: "When I asked Lionel what he wanted me to tell people, he said: ‘Everything I have to say is in my book.’ But that’s as far as he goes.

As shown in Dahmer, Lionel published a book about being the father of a serial killer titled A Father's Story in 1994.
