Jennifer Lopez reveals she starred in Hustlers "for free"

Hustlers grossed $148,000,000 worldwide but Jennifer Lopez says she didn't sign on to the project for a big payday. In a new interview, the actress and Hustlers producer told GQ that she "didn't get paid a whole bunch of money for Hustlers."
Singer, actress, dancer and entertainer extraordinaire Jennifer Lopez starred in one of this past summer's most entertaining films, Hustlers. Lopez was the lead and a producer on Hustlers which raked in $148,000,000 worldwide. You may be thinking that Jennifer got involved with the project because of the promise of a huge paycheque, but the actress has now revealed that she did Hustlers "for free".

Speaking to GQ, Jennifer revealed that her turn as Ramona in the film was in pursuit of something that she loved rather than a huge payday.
"I do things because I love them. I didn't get paid a whole bunch of money for Hustlers," she told the publication. "I did it for free and produced it. I bank on myself. That's the Jenny From the Block. I do what I want, I do what I love."
GQ did make sure to note that Jen wasn't paid "up front", which means there was likely a financial deal put in place contingent on the film's success. With a reported net worth of $400 million, something tells us that the film was a risk that made perfect sense for her to take.
Jennifer Lopez starred alongside Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, and Keke Palmer in Hustlers, which drew $33 million domestically in its first weekend – the highest opening of Jennifer's career.
In preparation for the role, Jennifer trained with professional choreographer and aerialist, Johanna Sapakie and, we're not going to lie, it looks like a LOT of work.

Jennifer called the film "a fun ride", praising its female-led production team and cast.
"We've been watching men take advantage of women in movies for a long time," she told GQ "So it was a fun ride to see the tables turned."
