The young actress is set to star as Tessa in the highly anicipated 'After' film.

Australian actress Josephine Langford will star in the upcoming movie adaptation of popular YA novel 'After'. Author Anna Todd sold the rights to the Wattpad novel in 2014 and, four years later, the film has found its stars.

According to Deadline, Josephine Langford, who is the younger sister of 13 Reasons Why actress Katherine Langford, will play the lead role of Tessa.

After is based on Anna Todd's Harry-styles inspired fanfiction that took Wattpad by storm. The movie's male lead, Harden Scott, is inspired by Harry Styles right down to the British accent.

The official synopsis of the book on the Simon & Schuster website is as follows: " Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she's used to."

The role of Harden Scott will be played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin (nephew of Ralph Fiennes) and Jace will be played by Swen Temmel. The movie is set to begin filming next week in Atlanta, according to Deadline.

Josephine Langford is a fresh face in Hollywood. The actress landed her first major role in the 2017 horror thriller Wish Upon as Darcie Chapman. She acted in the film alongside The Kissing Booth's Joey King and Stranger Things actress Shannon Purser.

The original book series managed to rake up one billion reads online and the film could be a huge phenomenon when it lands. So far, a release date for the film has not been announced.
