It's been almost 15 years since we last saw the best lawyer to ever graduate from Harvard Law School, Elle Woods do her thing in court and now it sounds like we're about to be blessed with her presence again because Legally Blonde 3 is officially HAPPENING.
Deadline reports that MGM is nearing a deal with Reese Witherspoon to reprise her role as the iconic lawyer Elle Woods in a third instalment of the Legally Blonde franchise - and, they’ve managed to bring back most of the creative team from the first film.
Writing is set to begin immediately and the next step will be to hire a director. The plot is currently being kept under wraps, but will reportedly focus on “female empowerment.”
No word yet on whether any other actors from the original cast will reprise their roles. We assume that Elle is still married to Emmett (Luke Wilson) and is still best friends with Paulette (Jennifer Coolidge). Fingers crossed Selma Blair returns as Vivian Kensington too.
