Childish Gambino, Beyoncé and Seth Rogen all star in the 2019 Disney film...
It's no secret that The Lion King is set to be one of the biggest films of 2019. When Disney revealed last year that they would be remaking the 1994 animated classic, the internet was immediately sent into pandemonium. Not only is The Lion King one of the most beloved Disney movies of all time but the new adaptation is live action and will star Childish Gambino as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala. We cannot wait.
Last night Disney unveiled the first trailer of The Lion King and it's safe to say that fans were shook. First things first all of the cinematography is stunning (Simba is literally the most beautiful, precious thing we've ever seen), then there's the fact that it features a snippet of a new version of 'The Circle of Life' and last but not least it recreates stills from the original movie. Our hearts. Naturally, it's being meme-d.
Check out the hilarious 'The Lion King' memes below.
One of the most notable things about the teaser is the fact that Beyoncé doesn't even feature. Disney have no doubt chosen to hold back unveiling any clips of King B's role until closer to the film drops on July 19 in 2019. Still that hasn't stopped the Beyhive and the general public at large from inserting our fave into memes and adapting the trailer at large into funny viral content.
With that in mind, we've gathered just a few of the best 'The Lion King' memes all in one place.
Some are already getting emotional about Mufasa.

Who decided that it was okay for Disney films to emotionally scar us?
At least we can be prepared this time.
I'm going to see The Lion King with a support group.— Small Freedia (@KidFury) November 22, 2018
This is actually a good idea.
Still why are we doing this to ourselves?

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
The thing is how can we not see it when Simba is this adorable.
I THOUGHT BABY SIMBA COULDN'T GET ANY CUTER AND I WAS A GOD DAMN FOOL....LOOK AT HIM GO! MY SON! pic.twitter.com/IlAUX9im08— gabi (@harleivy) November 22, 2018
Omg. He's so fluffy. I'm gonna die.
And at least the film is not this dark.
Wow, the new LION KING looks dark. pic.twitter.com/kHsNmleKbl— Sonny Bunch (@SonnyBunch) November 23, 2018
Well. As far as we know. Disney better not make it any more heartbreaking than it already is.
One or two people are angry that it looks like the movie will be the same film as the first.
Audiences going to see new Lion King even though it's the same movie with a different style of animation pic.twitter.com/vfO3ZNrwgl— Will Kellogg (@Will_Kellogg) November 22, 2018
The teaser is clearly an homage but the film is set to feature new songs so it can't be EXACTLY the same.
Others are putting in requests for the storyline.
New Lion King gotta flesh out Scar's story more. Man's family stopped fucking with him and this nigga went to live in some rocks with hyenas what the hell happened there— Beyonce has an uncle named Larry Beyince. Bruh.... (@DragonflyJonez) November 23, 2018
And one or two fans are confused as to how this is live action.
...am I the only person who thought a live-action The Lion King was gonna be Beyoncé dressed up like she‘s in Cats the musical— bridget minamore (@bridgetminamore) November 22, 2018
We're crying. It's photo-realistic animation which is essentially as live action as you can get with animals.
Then there are the Beyoncé memes.
In this house we stan the actress Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
Simba role up the 'Partition' please.
This is too much.

If you know, you know.
Justice for 'Standing on the Sun'.
If the new soundtrack is like this we won't be mad.
All we know is that Beyoncé singing 'Circle of Life' is going to be a moment.
Beyoncé is gonna sing Circle Of Life until souls are saved! What a day of rejoicing that will be.— Aretha's Casket Pumps (@Nothinbuttreble) November 23, 2018
