The cast have already had their say on whether or not there'll be a third film... and you know what, it's not completely off the table.

After only one week since its release, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again has already won over the hearts of the entire world thanks to Lily James' incredible turn as Young Donna and the faultless performances of the young actors who portray Rosie, Tanya, Sam, Bill and Harry. Oh, and Cher... of course.

The film has been certified FRESH on Rotten Tomatoes and is steadily climbing to the dizzying heights of the box-office. In fact, people are loving it SO much, they're already asking about a potential third movie. So... will there ever be another Mamma Mia? The cast has had their say and, by the sounds of things, it doesn't sound like it's completely off the table.

Will there ever been ANOTHER Mamma Mia movie? Could Mamma Mia 3 actually be on the cards?

Well, the jury is still out on that one. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Amanda Seyfried, who plays the good sis Sophie Sheridan said: “I feel there is enough ABBA music [for a third film] for sure, but I’m gonna say the same thing I said 10 years ago: I don’t f***ing think so.”

“It seems like it would be ridiculous. But now anything can happen! The only thing is I would be worried the studio would only make it to make money and, with Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I know that’s not the case.”

So there you have it. "I don’t f***ing think so" but also... maybe?! It does sound like the idea is not completely off the table. Producer Judy Cramer joked that “we don’t want to be too old,” before following up by explaining that they'll probably "just dream about it for a bit."

If it does happen, we definitely won't be waiting another 10 years for it. Not on Pierce Brosnan's watch, anyway. "Not ten years, no. Maybe next year we should do it," said Brosnan. Next year? I'll clear my schedule.

Ok but if the producers do decide to go ahead with another film in the MMCU, what would happen?

Well, they could dive back into Donna's diary again but this time, we go even further back into her life. What was her childhood like? How did she end up going to university in Oxford? How did she meet Rosie and Tanya?

Or it could just be a pre-prequel about Donna's relationship with her mother Ruby and Ruby's relationship with Fernando. How did Ruby meet Señor Cienfuego? Is he Donna's dad? SO MANY QUESTIONS. And Cher has just recorded an entire albums of covers after all... would be a real shame not to bring this melding of two musical legends to life on screen, right?

Picture the scene: Sophie's daughter is now 20 years old, she finds her grandmother's diary and starts reading it. Cue the music. Pierce Brosnan is still living in that little cabin on the hotel complex. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters are there; they haven't aged a day. Cher has taken up residency at the Hotel Bella Donna and has turned it into a money-making major tourist spot. By day, she dishes out life and love advice to her great-grandaughter and by night... she gets up and does a two hour set of nothing but recycled ABBA hits from the first two movies. It's a guaranteed hit.

I'll start writing the scripts, you get the producers on the landline. Let's make this happen.
