"Attacking someone personally because of a fictional character is unfair and very disrespectful." Sasha Pieterse addressed fans who are "unhappy" with Alison's storyline on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists star Sasha Pieterse has fired back at fans who have been attacking her over her character's storyline on the Freeform show.

Sasha has played Alison DiLaurentis in the franchise since 2010 and reprised the role this year for the Perfectionists spin-off series. There have been some big changes for the character, namely Alison's break up with Emily, which has been emotional for fans of the fictional couple.

Now, Sasha has responded to fans who have been upset over the character this season. In screenshots posted by the actress, Sasha reveals she has received threatening and "hurtful" comments from unhappy viewers.

"Hey there, I know a lot of you are unhappy with Alison’s storyline on #PLLthePerfectionists but these sorts of comments are hurtful and uncalled for. At the end of the day we are trying our best to make something you’ll love. However, our writers can’t make everyone happy" Sasha wrote on Twitter.

Sasha shared comments from fans like "show's getting cancelled luv", "i want to jump you", and "die". Some of the screenshots Sasha shared included comments about her appearance as well.

After sharing the screenshots, Sasha opened up further about the "unfair and disrespectful" comments.

"I totally understand some of you not enjoying Alison’s storyline at the moment and I don’t expect you to love every second...but, I do hope you start to love the person that Alison becomes. Her journey isn’t ending and it can take her anywhere," Sasha explained.

Not every plot line, character arc, or scene is going to be a hit with fans and Sasha made it clear that going after her is not the right way to voice that displeasure.
