13 "Riverdale" Finale Questions That We Desperately Need The Answers To
That cliffhanger finale left us with more questions than answers to be quite honest.
-
1. Who shot Fred Andrews and why?
In what is now surely the jumping point for season two, the mystery remains as to who shot - and hopefully did NOT kill - Fred Andrews. And why was he shot? After the argument that Fred and Hermione had and the fact that the Lodge’s wanted to buy him out, we’d put good money on either Hiram or Hermione herself ordering the hit on him. That sure would put a bit of pressure on the relationship between Archie and Veronica wouldn’t it?

2. Will Fred Andrews die?
First of all - HE BETTER NOT! Second, the jury is out on that one. Confirmed by show-runner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, we WILL be seeing Fred in the season two premiere but could that mean that he is back for good or will the first episode back feature flashbacks and one tearjerking funeral? If he does die, what will happen to Archie? Will Mary move back to Riverdale for good?

3. Why did Clifford Blossom actually kill Jason?
Ok, so we know that Clifford killed his own son because he was threatening to expose the truth behind his business but why was it so scandalous that he felt the need to murder him in cold blood? We know Jason was running drugs for the Serpents to earn money for his eventual escape from town. Did he learn too much his father's business or was he just a pawn in Clifford Blossom's dangerous game against the Serpents? There's definitely more story behind Clifford's motives.

4. Did Clifford Blossom actually commit suicide or did someone kill him?
At the end of episode twelve, Clifford Blossom is found hanging from the rafters in the Blossom’s maple syrup barn. But did he kill himself or did someone else do it to cover up or ensure their involvement wouldn’t be revealed? (Ahem Penelope Blossom) Or, could have have been murdered by someone working on behalf of his business rival, Hiram Lodge? We mean, how exactly did that sturdy barrel break RIGHT underneath him? Hmm.

5. Is Jughead a Southside Serpent now?
In the aftermath of FP Jones being accused and eventually jailed over Jason's death, Jughead is forced to move in with a foster family in the South Side and transfer schools. Just before Betty and Juggie were about to get jiggy, a bunch of Serpents knocked on Jughead’s door and handed him a Serpents jacket which he immediately put on. Will Jughead use his new identity to sleuth some new info on Jason's death or is he going to go rogue?

6. Was Clifford Blossom actually a real Blossom?
There’s a theory floating around that Clifford wasn’t actually a Blossom by blood - because he doesn’t appear to hold the red hair trait. Remember that scene, when Polly walks in and sees all those red wigs? Creepy. Maybe he married Penelope, the true Blossom King Pin and took her name instead. But then again, surely Hal Cooper would know about that?

7. Did Grandma Blossom get burned alive at Thornhill?
No for real, we’re worried. Was Grandma Blossom living at Thornhill or was she just visiting during Jason’s memorial service? Because if she was still in that house when Cheryl torched the place, then Jesus… we’re gonna be dealing with Ghost Grandma AND Zombie Jason in season two and this is not what we signed up for.

8. Who is Alice Cooper's long lost son?
SEASON FINALE BOMBSHELL! Alice Cooper got pregnant in high school and went away to the same institution as Polly before giving her baby - a son - up for adoption. According to Betty, he would be in or around his late twenties so it’s probably no one we already know. But how about this for a plot twist - we know for sure that Alice used to live on the South Side, so was the baby’s father Hal or was it someone else...? Sayyyy, FP Jones? Maybe?

9. Who planted the evidence in FP's house?
Between the five seconds that Archie and Veronica left FP’s house to the moment Sheriff Keller busts in and discovered a gun hidden in the back of his closet, someone must have snuck in and planted the evidence. But who could it have been? Was it Clifford himself or did he hire someone to do it?

10. What the F*CK happened to Miss Grundy?
Seriously? Four episodes of drama and she left without a trace. Was she just there to provide Archie with an alibi for that morning down by Sweetwater River or will she be rearing her head at some point during the second season. Remember, Alice Cooper still has her gun... Did she even notice it was missing from her car before she sped off into oblivion?

11. Did Miss Grundy's ex-husband even exist or did she make him up?
No, for real, did she just make him up as part of her elaborate scam on Archie and the town of Riverdale or should we still worry about his eventual appearance? According to her, he is a dangerous man. OMG... maybe he was the one who shot Fred Andrews in Pop's Diner looking for revenge?
-
12. Where the HELL is Sabrina?
“Something wicked this way comes…” says Betty to Veronica but bitch, where? It’s been heavily rumoured that Sabrina, who lives across the river in the magical town of Greendale, would appear in the finale but it looks like we’ll have to wait until season two to catch a glimpse at everyone’s favourite teenage witch. To be fair to the rumours, Sabrina DID appear in the season finale... she was featured on the comic that FP was clutching in jail.

13. Will Josie's Dad ever appreciate her talent and beautiful singing voice?
Probably not, as the parents of Riverdale are the absolutely WOOOOOOORST.
-
14. Will Melody from the Pussycats ever get her moment to shine?
In fact, will any of the Pussycats ever get their damn moment? As for Melody, one line is honestly not enough. Everyone knows that the drummer is the most important person in a band and yet there she is, pushed into the shadows. #JusticeForMelody
