Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas split up just before they got married...

Sophie Turner just revealed that she and Joe Jonas broke up a day before their wedding in Las Vegas.

It's no secret that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are one of the most popular celebrity couples in the world today. Not only do they both have hugely successful careers in their own rights (Sophie just finished her eight season role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones and Joe just released his first Number 1 single with the Jonas Brothers 'Sucker'). The pair got married this month but now Sophie has revealed that they actually split up just before.

Why did Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas break up before their wedding?

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Sophie said the two of them got cold feet ahead of the wedding. She said: “It was the worst day of our lives. For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, ‘Nevermind.’" It's not actually at all uncommon to get cold feet. Pryianka Chopra recently admitted that she had "a freak-out moment" before walking down the isle with Nick and plenty of other couples experience similar butterflies.

Sophie also opened up about how Joe "saved [her] life". She said that shortly after Game of Thrones first aired, she became "desperately unhappy" because of trolls criticising her on social media. Joe helped her improve her mental health. "He was, like, 'I can't be with you until you love yourself, I can't see you love me more than you love yourself.' That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way." Our hearts.

Sophie and Joe tied the knot on May 1st in a Vegas chapel this year. They got married right after Joe and the Jonas Brothers performed at the Billboard Music Awards with friends and family in attendance. We wish them all the best.
