Sony are also reportedly looking into making Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man bisexual and giving him a boyfriend in the movie.

Spider-Man fans assemble. Andrew Garfield is allegedly in talks to return as the superhero in a live-action Spider-Verse film.

It's no secret that Spider-Man has appeared in many different iterations and many different movies over the past 20 years. In the initial 2002-2007 films, Peter Parker was played by Tobey Maguire, then Andrew Garfield took on the role in the Amazing Spider-Man series. More recently, Tom Holland has played Spider-Man in the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On top of that, Sony have released an animated Spider-Man film called Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse starring numerous versions of Spider-Man/Spider-Woman, including Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Haileee Steinfeld). Now Sony are reportedly making a live-action Spider-Verse, bringing Andrew Garfield back... and he could be bisexual in it.

According to We Got This Covered, Andrew "is in early talks to return for a live-action Spider-Verse movie". In other words, it looks like Andrew could be donning the Spider-Suit again after his run as the hero was cut short with just two films. We Got This Covered have also reported Sony want Andrew's Spider-Man to be "bisexual and give him a boyfriend in the film".

Both Andrew and Tom Holland have previously said that they would love to see an LGBTQ+ Spider-Man. Last year, Tom told the Sunday Times: "The world isn’t as simple as a straight white guy. It doesn’t end there, and these films need to represent more than one type of person.” Meanwhile, Andrew said to EW: "Why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?”

In other words, a bisexual Spider-Man does seem possible. If that weren't exciting enough, We Got This Covered have also claimed that Andrew could join forces with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire in the movie, as well as live-action versions of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. It's currently unclear when the film would come out but we're excited to watch.

BRB forming a prayer circle to ensure that Tobey and Tom sign on to the film as well.
