Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx will join Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are reportedly back too.

Spider-Man hive assemble. Spider-Man 3 will officially feature a multiverse with past villains joining Tom Holland in the film.

Ever since Sony confirmed that they would be making a third Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland, there have been rumours that Spider-Man 3 would be a crossover event starring huge characters from previous Spider-Man films. Earlier this year, We Got This Covered reported that Andrew Garfield was in talks to reprise his role as Peter Parker and he might not be alone.

It's been revealed that Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus from the first Spider-Man 2 (2007) and Jamie Foxx will reappear as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). And it looks like there are many more surprises in store.

Following the Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx news, Collider have reported that Andrew Garfield will officially return to the film franchise. They've also claimed that Sony and Marvel are trying to close a deal with Tobey Maguire to return. In other words, there will potentially be at least three versions of Spider-Man in the third film all joining forces to fight a legion of iconic villains.

If that weren't exciting enough, Collider have also stated that Kirsten Dunst will be back as MJ and Emma Stone could even reprise the role of Gwen Stacy. (Some fans have questioned Stone's availability based on reports that she is pregnant, although those reports have not been confirmed.)

Fans also think that the return of Doctor Octopus and Electro could mean that the movie will feature The Sinister Six together for the first time, live-action, on screen.

Fans of the original comics will already know that The Sinister Six are a group of supervillians comprised of Doctor Octopus, Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Sandman and Kraven the Hunter.

Filming on the movie has already begun and it is reportedly set to come out in 2021.
