The Marvel co-creator filmed cameos for Captain Marvel and the Infinity War sequel, which will be released in 2019.

The comic book world was dealt a devastating blow when it was revealed that Stan Lee died at the age of 95. He gave us Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk and Black Panther, and tributes poured in from all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

From a hot dog vendor to bartender, Stan played a minor role in almost every Marvel film between 1989 and 2017. And thankfully, he'll have at least one more legendary appearance. Stan Lee filmed his Avengers 4 cameo before his death, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 co-director Joe Russo confirmed.

"So, Stan, typically we try to get him out — he doesn't love to fly — so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time," Russo stated during an interview with BBC Radio Scotland back in April. "So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we're on, for instance Ant-Man 2 or Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and kind of get him through his cameos in one day."

According to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, they're also working on another way to honour Stan Lee's legacy in the film. Obviously fans were losing it over his return and a possible fitting tribute for him. Be warned, this is very emotional.

Sadly, Stan Lee did not film a cameo for the next X-Men movie Dark Phoenix. However, we will get to see the icon feature in upcoming Disney film Ralph Breaks the Internet, which will be released in the UK and US next week.
