Well this is interesting...

The writers of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, have been dropping hints left, right and centre about the next instalment of the hit Netflix series and we're just about ready to explode with excitement tbh.

Last week they revealed that they had been reading fan theories about the progression of the show...and that a few clever fans had guessed correctly! And now, the brothers have confirmed two of *four* new additions to the show.

The first to be confirmed is child actress Sadie Sink, who has previously guested in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She will play Max, who is described as "a tomboy with a complicated history and a suspicious streak".

The second addition is Australian actor Dacre Montgomery, who will play Max's older step-brother, Billy. His character is said to be "a classic girlfriend-stealing bad boy". Power Ranger fans might recognise Dacre from the soon-to-be released Power Rangers reboot movie.

Considering Max's apparent similarities to Eleven ('tom boy with a complicated history?' HELLO!) , we wouldn't be surprised if those two characters are connected in some way. At the very least, there are likely to be more 'Elevens' out there (by virtue that her name is a number, and that she was probably the eleventh child to have been used by the mysterious Department of Energy). Maybe Max is a part of that programme too?

We're not sure what to think of Billy's character yet. Don't we already have one douchebag high-school bro on the show? (yes Steve Harrington, we're talking about you).

There are two more characters yet to be announced, so we'll keep our theories to ourself until we get the full facts. But what do you think will be happening in Hawkins in season 2? Let us know in the comments!
