The first movie was released back in 2016 and, while it was met with mixed reviews from critics, it gained a large following thanks to its memorable comic characters, incredible soundtrack and costumes that were perfect for Halloween (thanks Hot Topic).

But what about the second movie? Well, here is all the info currently available on this upcoming installment from the villains of the DC universe.

1) What is the release date of Suicide Squad 2?

Warner Bros are yet to confirm an official date but the sequel is expected to be released at some point in 2019. We should learn more soon as filming is set to begin in late March 2018.

2) Who is in the cast of Suicide Squad 2?

According to producer Michael De Luca, Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are all set to return as Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker respectively. No word yet on whether the other remaining squad members will be back but there is a rumour that Dwayne Johnson will be appearing as Black Adam, the villanous role he has been attached to for years who will likely be included in Shazam, another upcoming DC movie.

3) Who is writing and directing Suicide Squad 2?

David Ayer will not be returning for the sequel as he is said to be working on the spin-off Gotham City Sirens instead. Gavin O'Connor will now write and direct Suicide Squad 2. Gavin previously directed the likes of The Accountant, Warrior and the pilot episode of The Americans.

4) What is the plot of Suicide Squad 2?

No word yet on what direction the villain supergroup will be headed in next but we can probably expect The Joker to be a much more central party of the story after Jared Leto famously complained about how little of his performance was included in the original.

5) Who is on the soundtrack to Suicide Squad 2?

No names have been announced yet but as the first album included the likes of Twenty One Pilots and Panic! At The Disco, we are certainly hoping to see some more FBR acts join the fray. Could Paramore be next in line?

6) Is the trailer for Suicide Squad 2 out yet?

Of course not! But hey, maybe we'll get some sneaky footage around San Diego Comic Con time in late July.
