The Kissing Booth author Beth Reekles has announced the book sequel and here's what fans might expect in The Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix.

The sequel to Netflix's The Kissing Booth was announced on Valentine's Day. Joey King and Joel Courtney delivered the good news, which fans of the teen rom com had been waiting months for. Now, YA author and writer of the original Wattpad novel, Beth Reekles, has announced a sequel to The Kissing Booth book, perhaps giving fans some insight to what the second TKB film will be about.

Beth Reekles announced that her new book, The Kissing Booth 2: Going The Distance, would be arriving in January 2020.

Reekles also promised that the first chapter of TKB 2: Going The Distance would be available to read in May 2019 along with her other book, The Beach House.

Fans of The Kissing Booth will know that Noah and Elle left things a bit up in the air. With Noah off to Harvard, it seemed that the love birds would have to work extra hard to keep their romance alive.

According to the synopsis of TKB 2: Going The Distance, Noah and Elle's relationship is about to get 10 times more complicated thanks to their new long distance status:

"Elle Evans seems to have finally tamed hotter-than-hot bad boy Noah Flynn, but now they're facing a new challenge. Noah's 3,000 miles away at Harvard, which means they're officially a long-distance couple - and it's tough. After all, there's only so much texts and calls can satisfy - and when Elle sees a post which suggests Noah's getting friendly with someone else, she's devastated. On top of that, it's hard to ignore new boy Levi. He's gentle, sweet, cute - and definitely interested in Elle. With her heart on the line, what's a girl to do?"

WELL.

A new guy named Levi certainly sounds fascinating. While no casting announcements have been made yet, we could definitely see Levi being completely different in appearance to Noah. Perhaps a blond?

If Netflix's sequel follows this same storyline and synopsis, our onscreen Noah and Elle are in for a bumpy ride as well. Long distance is hard and we knew, based on TKB's final scenes, that being apart was going to be an emotional experience for those two.

Netflix's The Kissing Booth 2 film is currently in pre-production and, while there is no premiere date yet, fans can likely expect Netflix to drop the sequel later in 2020.

What do you guys think? Will Noah and Elle survive long distance in Beth Reekle's new book and in the Netflix sequel?
