According to sources, the show will focus on Wednesday Addams in the present day.

If you’re a fan of The Addams Family and Tim Burton’s dark and gothic filmography, then we have some news that you’re probably gonna love.

In a new report from Deadline, Burton is reportedly in talks to bring a live-action Addams Family remake to the small screen.

According to Deadline’s sources, the series will be a fresh take on the iconic spooky family, with Burton executive producing and possibly directing all the episodes.

The site reports that sources say the new live-action series would be set in the present day and will focus on Wednesday Addams “and what the world would look like to her in 2020.” None of that is officially confirmed just yet, but it already sounds incredible.

Further details – like who will be in the cast or the release date – are scarce at the moment, what with the series being in early development stages.

Deadline also reports that Netflix is amongst the networks and streaming services that are bidding for the show.

If all goes ahead, this will be the latest Addams Family remake in recent years, following on from the 2019’s animated The Addams Family starring Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron as Gomez and Morticia Addams. Another animated sequel is set to drop in 2021.
