On My Block has officially been renewed for a third season. The news comes one month after Netflix premiered season 2 of On My Block at the end of March 2019.
On My Block's official Twitter account made the announcement on April 29, exactly one month after season 2's premiere on Netflix.
The account shared a short video alongside a brief message: "Fam, our mentions will ever be the same. #OnMyBlocks3 is officially on the way!"
Season 3 will presumably answer some of season 2's burning questions, like who the HELL kidnapped Monse, Cesar, Jamal, and Ruby? Will Monse end up attending that fancy private school? Will Monse forgive Cesar?
Cesar and Spooky managed to pull a big one over on the Prophets but we're definitely expecting some fallout from their scheme.
Speaking to TV Guide last month, On My Block co-creator and executive producer, Lauren Iungerich, previewed season 3's "awesome story" ahead.
"We have an awesome story planned for Season 3, if we get a Season 3. I like to know where I'm going before I start writing and so I always try to figure out the next season before I start the season I'm working on. I think what we have in store is a fun, surprising reveal in Season 3," Iungerich told TV Guide.
"I think they're definitely going to be in danger, that's for sure. But it might not be what you think it is."
We'll have to wait another year to find out what happens in the next chapter of On My Block but something tells us it will be huge for all of our protagonists.
