"It seems as if the world would still be a stranger to me, if not for you."

In case you didn't know, August 4 is a pretty big day for celebrity birthdays. It's Barack Obama's birthday, Meghan Markle's birthday but most importantly, it's the birthday of the only pair of twins to outsell and outslay Mary Kate and Ashley - Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

Fans, friends and Riverdale cast mates alike all flocked to Instagram to wish Dylan and Cole a happy birthday but it was Lili Reinhart who really managed to send everyone's wig flying into the stratosphere with one single Instagram caption.

Fans have speculated for years now over co-stars Lili and Cole's IRL relationship. They appeared to publicly confirm their relationship at the 2018 Met Gala but despite being papped together in various places across the globe, the couple have never commented or confirmed their status as a couple. (And by the sounds of things, don't intend to - and sure as hell don't owe it to anyone to either.) But that didn't stop Lili from sharing a heartfelt personal birthday message to Cole on Instagram, which in turn, sent the entire internet into MELTDOWN.

Sharing a picture of Cole from their recent holiday in Mexico, Lili wrote: "It seems as if the world would still be a stranger to me, if not for you. I’m so thankful that our paths intertwined to form this beautiful adventure~ Happy birthday, my love."

The sweet message is the first time Lili has actually commented on her relationship with Cole on a public platform. She even replied to a comment from co-star Casey Cott that said "R u guyz d8ing?" with a sneaky whisper emoji.

Of course, fans who have loved their on and off-screen relationship for years are absolutely losing it and even their cast-mates can't get over how adorbs the whole thing is.

.

Yeah yeah yeah, that was cute AF, right? But the other birthday message Lili sent to Cole on Twitter? TRULY ICONIC. Happy birthday Cole - and Dylan!
