The Riverdale star slammed comments from "people who constantly attack me, my cast mates, my relationship, and Riverdale."
Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart has said she plans on taking a break from "toxic" Twitter after opening up about her and her cast mates receiving hate. Over the weekend, KJ Apa and Elijah Daniel exchanged words after the YouTube star asked his followers whether the "Riverdale fanbase know the show sucks and don’t care."
After other cast members weighed in on the situation, Lili Reinhart shared a series of text posts on Instagram stories explaining why she planned to take a break from Twitter.
"Do people on Twitter ever get tired of being so negative and disrespectful to literally everyone and everything," Lili wrote on Instagram stories.
Lili also said the site was "like a cesspool for evil 15 year olds who don't know what the hell they're talking about and have nothing better to do."
The 22-year-old actress further expressed a desire to take a break from "people who constantly attack me, my cast mates, my relationship, and Riverdale."
Riverdale is now in its third season and it's no surprise that scrutiny of the show and its characters has become more heightened. That is, of course, no excuse to go after the cast's private lives or ridicule them over something they work incredibly hard on.
Lili has had to defend herself on Twitter more than a few times over people dissecting her relationship and body image. It can certainly be draining to always be on the defensive so it's understandable why Lili might think taking a break is a good idea.
Her Riverdale co-star Vanessa Morgan recently took a break from the site for similar reasons.
