Turns out the actress is as big a 'Riverdale' fan as you are.
Mad Max:Fury Road actress Riley Keough is headed to Riverdale in the show's upcoming third season. It's not your average casting story, though. The actress, who also appeared in The Runaways, Magic Mike, and The Girlfriend Experience tweeted about her desire to be on the show all the way back in March 2018.
I just want to be cast in Riverdale— Riley Keough (@RileyKeough) March 6, 2018
The powers that be clearly wanted her on Riverdale, as well because, according to Vulture, Riley will appear on the show as Laurie Lake.
Per a description obtained by Vulture, Laurie Lake is an “all-American farm girl” who takes in Archie and Jughead after their circumstances find them in need of shelter. Laurie is flirty with Jughead and Archie, however, the boys could actually be in a great deal of danger. Whether this danger comes at the hands of Laurie or a malevolent force, we don't yet know.
Not much else is known about the upcoming character. However, "Laurie Lake" does appear in 9 Archie comics issues, according to Comic Vine.
Riley reacted to her casting on Twitter, writing "tweet and you shall receive." Maybe every actor should tweet about which shows and films they'd like to a part of. It's proven to work, so now we need Neve Campbell to tweet her desire to play Jughead's mom.
