As Cheryl infiltrates The Farm to help Betty, Jughead risks his life trying to get rid of the Gargoyle gang in the trailer for Riverdale 3x17, 'The Master'.

After another successful musical - this time without a traumatic murder on opening night - Riverdale is back at it again and in the next episode, we're diving deeper into The Farm with the arrival of Chad Michael Murray as the ridiculously good looking yet terrifying and definitely definitely dangerous Edgar Evernever.

The next episode of Riverdale, titled 'The Master', will air on Wednesday 27th March. The synopsis reads: "As Betty enlists Cheryl’s help to infiltrate The Farm, Archie and Veronica help an ally from his past. Meanwhile, Jughead’s attempt to put a stop to Riverdale’s drug trade puts him on a collision course with Gladys. Finally, Hiram breaks some surprising news to Veronica."

Odds on him spilling the tea about her affair with Minetta? Oh, and Jughead literally risks his life in order to stop his own mother from growing her drug trade - and his actions could land him in a very precarious position.

What happens in Riverdale 3x17? Let's take an extended promo trailer deep dive...

Cheryl Blossom, spy for hire x

Betty calls upon cousin Cheryl to see if she can use her charms to find out more about Edgar, Evelyn and The Farm. Cheryl heads to the new Farm headquarters (the Sisters of Quiet Mercy) and miraculously manages to secure a one to one meeting with Mr Cult himself. What happened to him being so elusive, huh? I didn't think you could just *meet* Edgar? Oh well, for the sake of getting this plotline out of the way, I'll let this one slide.

Also, Cheryl calling Edgar a "yummy snack"? True but also... DELETE IT!!!

Hermione going ✈️ sleeping with the fishes?!

Following news of Mayor Lodge and Hiram's separation, it looks like Hermione is gonna be sleeping with both eyes open instead of just the one. She unwraps a gift of two dead fish in her office and reveals to Veronica that whoever is holding a grudge wants her dead. Hermione, baby... you should have thought about that before your shitty boyfriend did a shitty job of not killing your shitty husband once and for all.

The return of Mad Dog.

He's back, baby! The ally from Archie's past that him and Veronica team up to help? It's Mad Dog, Archie's former cellmate. Archie enlists him to help Jughead's plan to get rid of the Gargoyles and eliminate the threat of both G&G and Gladys' drug runners. With a little light shirtless sparring in the ring thrown in for good measure too.

Veronica is sad. Wah.

Hiram definitely just told her about Hermione's affair, didn't he? He's definitely not above spilling details of sordid affairs to his daughter to get her on his side.

Gladys is a straight savage.

Just when you thought Hal and Penelope held the titles of Worst Parents in Riverdale™, we have a knew contender. Gladys Jones who makes it very clear this week that she is absolutely not above breaking her son's kneecaps in order to keep her drug trade alive! Amazing! My daughter Jellybean is in great hands!

Jughead will fly too...

After a huge showdown in a run-down motel with the Gargoyles, Jughead manages to grab Kurtz but not before Kurtz hurls himself out of a window ominously saying something about being "ready to ascend." Here's hoping Kurtz' spine breaks the fall of Juggie.
