Betty confronts Edgar Evernever and threatens to kill Evelyn to save Alice from The Farm in the trailer for Riverdale season 3, episode 18, 'Jawbreaker'.
Chad Michael Murray made his first (well, second... technically) appearance as Edgar Evernever in episode 17 of Riverdale season 3. We might have lost Alice, Kevin, Fangs and now Cheryl Blossom to the cult thanks to his creepy recruitment tactics but in the episode 3x18 trailer, it looks like cousin Betty is NOT gonna go quietly into the night about any of it.
The next episode of Riverdale, titled 'Jawbreaker', will air on Wednesday 17th April. (Yes, there's another three week break.)
The synopsis for the episode reads: "When a tainted batch of fizzle rocks makes its way through Riverdale, Jughead and FP set out to find who’s responsible. After asking Veronica to help get him into an upcoming boxing tournament, Archie quickly learns he may be in over his head. Elsewhere, Betty makes one last attempt to rescue Alice from The Farm’s grip, and Toni becomes unsettled by a sudden change in Cheryl’s behaviour."
Luke Perry will also appear in this episode as Fred Andrews.

FP and Jughead, True Detective season 4
Following the mysterious Gargoyle-related circumstances surrounding the death of Baby Teeth, Sheriff Jones and trainee Deputy Jones work together to try and solve who is behind the copy cat killing and who might have unleashed some new fizzle rocks. OH, I WONDER WHO THAT COULD BE?!
They investigate a dangerous client (or worker? or intruder?!) at what looks like Penelope Blossom's brothel and later catch Kurtz, Gladys' cook who's been on the run since the raid, at gun point.
I'm not being funny but like, wouldn't all this be easier if Jughead just aired his mum out to FP? What is TAKING him so long?! PUT HER IN JAIL! FFS!
Edgar better SQUARE up!
After learning about Edgar's sinister actions and hallucinatory tactics with her mother, Betty heads on over to Farm HQ to square up to ol' Eddie. She also threatens to wipe Evelyn's existence off the planet in the middle of the school corridor.
Betty blindfolds Alice and takes her somewhere. The light reflecting on their faces appears to be red, which would suggest Pop's but why blindfold her for that?! Alice is later seen in the bunker, distraught. (Time for Mädchen Amick's annual on-screen Emmy-worthy breakdown!) Tears are flowing, voices are breaking, lies, betrayal and deceit are afoot... "How can I trust you, you lied to me?!" she says but WHO is she speaking to!? Considering almost EVERYONE on this show has lied to Alice at some point, it's difficult to figure out.
Is it Betty? Is it Edgar? Is it FP? Is it Polly? IS IT CHIC?!!

Archie, who of course now owns his own boxing gym, starts a boxing league with all his exonerated prison mates with the help of Veronica. They fight in honour of Baby Teeth - we're assuming. Oh, and Elio is there, obviously... when has that rat ever passed up an opportunity to place some bets?
Anyway, not much tea here other than the fact that KJ Apa is once again very shirtless and bleeding from the face. Fangs is also there and he's also shirtless. A normal episode of Riverdale then!?

Some Varchie breadcrumbs have entered the chat but WHAT 👏 ABOUT 👏 ARCHOSIE?! After breaking up with Reggie and expressing her low-key regret over choosing her family over Archie back when Hiram almost died at the hands of Hermione's terrible plan, Ronnie is reaching out.
Varchie will no doubt soon be back in business but for now, we'll take whatever we can considering it's been 84 years since we've seen them together.
