WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!

Riverdale was finally back on our screens last night after taking a week off to (selfishly) enjoy the Thanksgiving period. Things picked up right where they left off and the episode even took on a different format this week.

Split in to three parts, episode seven detailed the movements of Jughead and Archie, Betty and Veronica and Josie and Cheryl over the course of the same night. Jughead got roped into delivering some drugs to Greendale, Josie discovered that she's got a stalker and Betty and Veronica set out to bust Sheriff Keller's suspicious actions once and for all. (We've had our suspicions ever since S2E2...)

And JUST when we thought we were about to uncover the Black Hood once and for all... the plot twist of the CENTURY smacked us square in the face. And it was one that absolutely no one saw coming.

After breaking into the Keller's house and finding a suspect board and a black hood, Betty is convinced that the Sheriff has something to do with the murders, despite him showing her his log book containing all his whereabouts at the times the crimes were committed.

She continues to follow him anyway and together, both her and Veronica discover that he leaves his house for hours on end in the middle of the night and returns home in the early hours of the morning. But what the FRICK is he doing?!

Turns out, Sheriff Keller, who is married, is having an affair with Mayor McCoy, who is ALSO married and everyone is absolutely losing it.

While a bunch of people had their suspicions, the reveal blew the rest of our minds. Think about it, they were ALWAYS alone together, she ALWAYS calls him Tom instead of 'Sheriff'... Like, we get that they've been working closely together since Jason Blossom's murder but not THAT close.

Of course, their affair now makes them prime targets for the Black Hood's killing spree. Two married people having a secret affair with each other? That's definitely gonna land them straight in the top 5 of his kill list - look what happened to "adulterer" Fred!

But then again, this reveal doesn't rule Keller out of being the Black Hood. He did get out of the car dressed in the EXACT same outfit that the shooter was wearing at Pops. We guess if neither of them end up injured or dead then he's still the main suspect as far as we're concerned.

The Reckoning is upon us now, people. Keep your morals in check. No one step out of line. And stop sleeping with other people's wives and husbands.
