"Stop tweeting me 'get back to work' no need to bully me."

Riverdale's Vanessa Morgan let fans know that she will be taking a break from Twitter after citing "mean people" and messages from fans telling her to "get back to work".

Vanessa, who has played Toni Topaz on the hit CW show since the start of season 2, addressed those who have tweeted rude and upsetting messages at her, following some concerning health news about her dog, Yoshi.

In addressing the calls for her to "get back to work", Vanessa reminded fans that she doesn't write the scripts and that she hasn't been on set because she hasn't been written in the last couple of episodes.

FYI, actors don't just hang out on set when they're not filming scenes.

"For those tweeting me to get back to work..lol i wasn't WRITTEN in the last two episodes," Vanessa explained. "Hence why I haven't been there...so please stop tweeting me 'get back to work' no need to bully me. I'll be back in van in a few days for this episode."

Vanessa also tweeted that she was "going to stay of Twitter".

Many fans stood up for the actress and sent messages of support.

"Vanessa you are loved and valued, ofc some people are mean but there are more who support you, don’t ever forget that," one fan tweeted at her.

Lately, fans have noticed Vanessa Morgan and Madelaine Petsch's absence from the Riverdale set. While cast members like Lili Reinhart have been sharing BTS content from Vancouver, Madelaine and Vanessa have both been away or not sharing content from set.

Of course, this could mean that the others are shooting an arc that focuses heavily on the core four instead of the wider cast. Telling Vanessa to "get back to work" doesn't change the scripts that were written and it's just not a very nice way to talk to someone.

A fan worried about the fate of Choni even sent a tumblr ask to Riverdale writer Britta Lundin wondering if "Ms Toni Topaz is still alive and well".

Either way, hating on Vanessa about her dog or her work schedule (of ALL things) is just plain unkind. As Vanessa said in her message, "be nice to people and protect your heart".
