RuPaul's Drag Race season 10 winner Aquaria was filmed walking off stage at London nightclub G-A-Y, after fans allegedly booed a transgender friend who she picked to perform alongside her.
What happened with Aquaria at G-A-Y's Porn Idol?
On July 19th, Aquaria appeared as a celebrity judge at G-A-Y's "Porn Idol," a night that typically sees Drag Race alumni pick a member of the audience to perform, for a chance to win £500. But when Aquaria chose a transgender friend and performer from the crowd to join her on stage, the fans turned on the young drag queen, booing her until she left the stage.
Don’t fucking play this. I’m not the fucking one and the fact that y’all probably treat performers like this all over the world is fucking disgusting. This is why girls loathe doing their jobs sometimes. Respect yourself and respect others. pic.twitter.com/NlZW54Y7dr

Explaining what went happened at G-A-Y from her perspective, Aquaria tweeted, "one of my beautiful trans friends had the bravery to offer an entertaining show for the (many, clearly) undeserving audience members at the club because they're too busy making fun of the lads and demeaning the women brave/boozed enough to perform for them."

While some believe the booing came from a transphobic place, others have said that fans were booing the nepotism, seeing as the audience member is supposed to be picked to compete at random.
Porn idol, when the girl picks someone up to come on stage she chose a friend of hers instead of being fair in the audience. 500 quid was on offer. People boo’d at the nepotism and then aquaria walked off stage

According to fans, Aquaria's time off-stage was short lived, and she returned to perform after the boos had died down. A true professional.
In the few short weeks since snatching the Drag Race crown, Aquaria has built a reputation as a queen who isn't afraid to speak out for what she believes. Just a few short weeks ago, called out Bebe Rexha after the pop star accused her and the other season 10 finalists of being "Cold AF" when they met at this year's VH1's Trailblazer Honors.
