It's confirmed, true love does not exist.

RuPaul's Drag Race gave us its first on-screen romance in herstory on Season 11 with Brooke Lynn Hytes and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, but the two Queens have now confirmed that their relationship is over – and we're absolutely devastated.

Drag Race fans watched as Brooke Lynn and Vanjie got closer and closer throughout the competition, sneakily planting kisses on each other and congratulating each other on their wins. Aww.

Last week, we saw the lovers separated when Miss Vanjie was sent home, narrowly missing out on the final. But now it looks like their relationship has been hit by another tragedy.

During the Season 11 reunion, Brooke and Vanjie announced they were no longer a thing and it's all because of Vanjie's hectic schedule.

"We dated for about four months after the show, and we tried to make it work, but our schedules were just very different," Brooke told Ru. "He was travelling all the time, I wasn't travelling at all, so we never really saw each other, and it was scary for me."

Brooke Lynn added that she does still really does care about Vanjie despite their breakup and she still has "a lot of love for him". Stop it. Our hearts.

Vanjie added: "I’m a romantic at heart… I wanted The Notebook experience and I was getting a Post-It. And that’s no T… but it's OK, and that’s why we’re on good terms, we recognised it early. It is what it is. We had different views."

Brooke also defended their relationship after fellow contestants Nina West and A’Keria C Davenport suggested it could be a "showmance".

She added: "I was so careful to distance myself from Vanjie at any part of the competition. I was aware people were probably going to think [the romance was for air time]. I wanted to keep that very, very, very separate."

Viewers were devastated that #Branjie was over.

Anyway, it looks like the couple are still on good terms and who knows, a reconciliation could be on the cards. They're still being ~ extremely ~ friendly on social media and Vanjie even gave Brooke Lynn a hug at the reunion.

"I still have feelings for you, and I know you still have feelings for me, and just as long as we always have love for each other, anything is possible in the future," Brooke Lynn said.

Vanjie then ran up to her for a hug, before shouting to the other Queens: "And this ain't fake, motherfuckers!"
