Jasmine Jobson and Naomi Ackie were also nominated for their performances in Top Boy and The End Of The F***ing World.
Ncuti's scene-stealing portrayal of Eric in the first two seasons of the show has been praised by fans and critics alike. He's been nominated for the role multiple times and now, he's just gone and bagged himself a big ol' BAFTA nomination. And we LOVE to see it.
The 2020 BAFTA TV nominations were announced today (June 4), with Chernobyl clocking in with a whopping 14 nominations, and The Crown led Netflix's nods with 7 of its own. Ncuti was one of 4 actors nominated for their performances on Netflix shows - alongside Top Boy's Jasmine Jobson.
He's been nominated in the 'Best Male Performance in a Comedy series' category alongside Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen), Youssef Kerkour (Home) and Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats).
Elsewhere in the nomination list for Netflix, Jasmine Jobson was nominated for her brilliant portrayal of Jaq in Top Boy. Helena Bonham Carter and Josh O’Connor picked up noms for their stand out performances as Princess Margaret and Prince Charles in The Crown season 3, and, although technically a Channel 4 show, Star Wars queen Naomi Ackie was given a nod for her role as Bonnie in The End Of The F***ing World.
Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us was also nominated, alongside Unbelievable, Euphoria and Succession in the International category. Don’t F**k With Cats was also nominated in the 'Factual Series' category.
