WHOA WHOA WHOA.

Once a film like Sierra Burgess Is A Loser is out in the world, it's hard to imagine the film's characters being played by any other actors. Like, can you imagine anyone but Shannon Purser in the titular role? No. You can't. It's impossible.

As we all know, the road to casting your favourite characters in film and television can often be a long and deliberative process. Noah Centineo, for example, very nearly played a character with a completely different vibe in Sierra Burgess Is A Loser.

The film's director, Ian Samuels revealed to ET that Noah initially went out for a MUCH smaller part in the film.

"It was for Spence, Veronica’s boyfriend," Samuels told ET.

In the immortal words of Noah Centineo playing any character at all: "WHOA WHOA WHOA".

For those of you who completely forgot about Spence, he was Veronica's problematic college boyfriend who tried to make her feel insecure about herself. Among his long list of misdeeds, Spence tore down Veronica's self-esteem ON PURPOSE, hooked up with Veronica after the party, then dumped her in the DMs.

The final version of Spence is played by Will Peltz in the movie, who did a great job portraying such an unlikable character.

As for Noah, he eventually went on to play the film's lead, Jamey, after scheduling conflicts arose with a different actor initially slated to play the role.

Noah obviously crushed it, but it's always funny to hear about what other roles the leads could have played in their films.

What do you guys think? Could you imagine Noah as Spence in Sierra Burgess Is A Loser?
