He called his band's first few shows "cringey" because of all the "Stranger Things" fans.

He might play the sassy Mike Wheeler on Stranger Things and the foul-mouthed Richie Tozier in IT but, in case you didn't know, Finn Wolfhard is also a fully fledged musician with his own band.

Finn is one fourth of Calpurnia, a Vancouver-based indie-rock band. The band are signed to Royal Mountain records and have already recorded their first EP, which was released in June 2018. Tickets for their live shows are selling fast and fans are absolutely LOSING it over their music. It's safe to say that things are going very well for the teenagers.

That being said - there is one thing that that really drives Finn up the wall when he performs live with his bandmates... fans have been screaming Stranger Things references at him during their set and it's apparently so "cringey" that he's had to have a word with them about it.

Speaking to Ed Droste from the band Grizzly Bear for Stereogum, Finn spoke about a time when one Stranger Things fan disrupted a performance of Calpurnia. He explained how he's started to hone his on-stage banter as part of his performance techniques during a set saying, "We like to do onstage bits sometimes to keep people moving and stuff. It’s all so spur-of-the-moment and people really like it when you have that banter with the audience."

And then he revealed that the band's first few shows were "definitely pretty cringey just because people were screaming Stranger Things references."

Finn detailed one particular moment in Toronto saying, "One time I got kind of pissed in Toronto and someone was like, 'I love Stranger Things!' and I was like, 'What?'” And they were like, 'I love Stranger Things!' And I was like, 'Okay, thought that was what you said.' Then I was like, 'You know what I like more? Music. And that’s what we’re here for.' And everyone was like, 'Yeah!' And then we just started playing and they were like, oh yeah, I forgot that I’m at a music concert right now. Totally different."

People now apparently "know their place," when they're in the Calpurnia crowd. WIG! You tell 'em Finn!

Look, Finn's a young boy with a lot of talent and a lot to offer. Sure, his Stranger Things role has undoubtably done wonders for the band's popularity but come on, who can blame him if he doesn't want to get stuck being known as Mike for the rest of his life. And besides, there's three other people in that band too... It's not just ya boi Finn.
