Thank GOD he got the role of Will Byers instead.

A few weeks ago, we discovered that Joe Keery originally auditioned for the role of Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things before he eventually got cast as Steve Harrington. Joe isn't the only cast member to have originally auditioned for a different role... because Noah Schnapp did too.

We all know and love future Emmy winner Noah as Will Byers but things could have turned out a LOT different if he'd ended up playing the role he originally auditioned for.

Yep, Noah originally audition for the role of Mike Wheeler.

Speaking to NKD magazine, Noah revealed what happened when he found out he'd actually snagged a role on the show.

"I go to camp every summer for seven weeks and it’s like sleepaway camp. You have three phone calls every summer with your parents and I was on my last phone call. And this was some audition blurred with all the other auditions I did, so I didn’t remember what it was, but I remember them calling me."

"They called me and they were like, ‘Hey, Noah!’ and I was like, ‘Who’s this?’ and they said, ‘Oh, you got the role of Will Byers on Montauk!’ and then they explained the whole thing and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ and I was so excited and things have just been going from there."

(Stranger Things was originally called Montauk? You learn something new every day.)

Thankfully, things worked out for the best 'cause Noah is spectacular as Will and Finn is perfect in the role of Mike and we wouldn't want it any other way.

PERFECT CASTING. NOW GIVE HIM THE EMMY.
