Jacob Elordi is in The Kissing Booth 2 and his co-star Joey King opened up about what it was like for the exes to reunite for the sequel. Joey called the experience was "worth it" because of how much she loves The Kissing Booth film and how it resonated with fans.

The Kissing Booth was a massive win for Netflix last year. The streaming platform acknowledged the teen rom com's success, revealing that it was one of its most rewatched films of 2018. Naturally, Netflix decided to go all in on a sequel, confirming earlier this year that most of the main cast would return for a second outing. Jacob Elordi and Joey King dated in 2018 but quietly broke things off. This left fans wondering what their dynamic would be like heading into a potential sequel.

Fans had even more questions after Netflix failed to make it clear whether Jacob Elordi would return for The Kissing Booth 2. However, Jacob's involvement was finally confirmed in October, with a teaser trailer where the Euphoria star reassured fans that he would be "returning as Noah Flynn in The Kissing Booth 2."

Now Joey King has addressed her experience working with her former boyfriend on the movie and she has a very positive outlook on the situation.

During a guest appearance on the Mood with Lauren Elizabeth podcast, Joey King admitted that reuniting with Jacob for the film was "a wild experience" but "totally worth it".

"I know what everyone wants to know, of course," Joey said. "And yeah, it was crazy. It was a wild experience, but honestly, it was a really beautiful time because I learned a lot about myself and I grew as an actor, I grew as a person."

Ultimately, Joey says the situation was worth it because she believes in, and is a fan of, The Kissing Booth.

"I'm a fan of how it resonated with the world and it resonated with me," Joey explained. "So going back, and doing that, and making the sacrifice, obviously, what everyone is thinking about. I'm not outwardly addressing, but what I'm kinda on the sly addressing, making those sacrifices was totally worth it."

When we last left the Kissing Booth's Noah and Elle, Noah was on his way to Harvard for his first year of University. Issues around their long-distance romance will likely be a point of contention in the sequel as we see just how much their separation will impact the relationship.

Netflix has not announced a release date for The Kissing Booth 2 but we'll let you know the second they do.
